Legitimate Work from Home Job

This is an article I wrote last Nov 20, 2009, with the goal of helping work from home individuals by finding legitimate works online.  It was accepted in Associated Content and after AC was bought by Yahoo, they retained my work and has been part of their achieves.  Link to the original post is

Real Pay with Real Work
Quitting is not really in my vocabulary. Though I have been discouraged by failures, still I persist because there is no glory in quitting. That's the same attitude on how I discovered and learned from my vast experiences. Initially, I thought that working from home is a tale and though there are lots of advertisements posted on the web, which you will be able to validate when you make a search, still it is very hard to find a real work at home job that pays.
I started posting my profile and bidding for work in one freelancers' community site. I was lucky to land a job for 40 articles that pays with $1.25 per 400 words. Yes, it felt like being slaved for just a few dollars. But since writing is my passion, I grab the opportunity and accepted the job. Then I felt happy seeing my work posted on their website. There is no author's name on it. What irked me is when I had another client asking for 25 articles with 300 words and would pay $3 for each article, whereupon sending them 25 original articles, he suddenly disabled his account on the community site and did not pay me in the end. What's more pathetic is that he used my article and I saw it online with another author's name. Yes, he does not have a conscience.

There's a good ending to this story though. So when I wanted to get another project, I made sure that I will not be a victim again. I researched on the client's profile, see if he's paying his providers, communicated with him, and luckily secured a good paying work at home job from him writing articles for his blogs. Still, my name is not written on the article. But the good thing about this employer is that he does not rush me to produce his articles, he paid me in advance for the 12 articles amounting to $30. I was able to deliver the first 12 articles and then afterwards, he gave me another set, which I am currently working on.

With the zest to have my name published, I opened a Blog, which pay me depending on the high traffic on the post. The good thing about it is you maintained the rights over your work. Then I learned of this site AC Associated Content and found another venue to post my articles, with the hope that it will be bought by viewers interested on this kind of topic.

Now, let me tell you some truth, which I learned on the writing journey. If you want to earn big, go accept ghostwriting for academic sites. Just assess as well if your conscience will be happy helping students pass their requirements yet cheat their professors, and in actuality cheat themselves as well. Or you can do data entry work if you don't like thinking much. I don't think I can devote much time in that area though. I love learning and research is part of the learning process, and so I continued writing articles.

To get real work at home jobs that pay, don't try looking for easy one. Real jobs that pay are actually the same with regular work being brought to your home instead of you doing the commute to office. To be successful in this field, set aside a time for your work, have a discipline not to be tempted away from your task, and ensure that you plan your activities. The reason why you wanted to work at home is because you may want more time for yourself. There is a risk that working from home would actually eat much of your time meeting deadlines. Do not fall on this cliff but set time for rest and most of all, remember your priorities, remember why you wanted to be home instead of slaving away on the office.
